Your work matters! Even if it seems like what you do does not have much impact, you can make a difference through the way you work. Strive to be diligent, punctual, helpful, humble, and attentive. Work with excellence, joy, kindness, willingness, and love. Be a great support to your colleagues, clients, and leaders.
Whether at home, at work, in church, or in your community, always seek to do your best in every task so that God may be glorified. Be a light and a blessing to those around you. Consider this: your attitude toward work will stand out and draw people’s attention, creating opportunities for growth and to share about Jesus.
Work with dedication, and God will honor your work
- Pray to the Lord and dedicate everything you do to Him.
- Thank God for your job and for the opportunity to be useful in all that you do.
- If you are unemployed, ask the Lord to open doors and provide opportunities for work.
- Read in the Bible about faithful workers and learn from their example: Joseph (Genesis 39), the virtuous woman (Proverbs 31), Jesus (in the Gospels), Paul, and others.
- Be a good testimony in your workplace. Take opportunities to share your faith in Jesus.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for the opportunity to be useful through the work I do. Help me to be faithful in every task, in my relationships with others, and in maintaining a proactive and loving attitude. Bless those who are unemployed and open doors of opportunity for them. May all my work glorify Your name and bless others. In Jesus’ name, I pray with gratitude, amen.
